Track Updates

Andy the 'human excavator' has put some photos of the second down hill track up. There has been some serious dirt work and trail shaping to form a reasonably smooth track (if you are on an 8inch travel rig). Still more to do but worth a look! Check them out - Down Hill Track 2 'Lucky'

The new track on Fluffy Duck Hill is slowly taking shape. With some more rock picking and realigning of the tracks it will become the technical 'highlight' of the park for the XC riders. Be warned, there is a bit of 'Tiger Pear' around! Access the track by following the Secret Valley Track from the car park and after you have crossed the 4wd track twice, there will be a fork. Take the right fork and climb up. Eventually you will reach the 4wd track again, follow until the top of the hill, head to the left and follow back down to the bottom. Be warned, the tracks are still rough and in need of refining!

Fence Line Track is suffering from an invasion of various weeds that don't do your gears and shins any good. These have been sprayed with round up and the intention is to walk the track with a brush cutter or lawn mower to clear a corridor on each side. If someone has the sudden urge to do this, that would be great. Just be mindful of the horses and that you will need to be a current member to be covered by insurance. Otherwise, some early morning working bees might be the answer.

Finally, be aware that the horses are dragging wire onto the tracks in places (usually in the most inconvenient spot!) If you spot some wire, please stop, wind it up and either bring it back to the wire pile at the car park or, hang it on a tree for later collection.

If you feel the need for a spin with others, please contact one of the members on the contacts page. Otherwise, send an email around on the yahoo group - sign up here!

Trail Build Guide

E-mail Print PDF

Tracks are an integral park of the Tamworth Bike Park. That is why the Bike Park exists!

As a result, there needs to be a consistent and coordinated approach to building any tracks and structures within the park. As the park caters to many different disciplines, the coordination is to ensure that tracks don’t cross each other, lines are not spoiled, the tracks are sustainable and a generally a pleasant experience for all riders of all abilities.
